I’ve had a happenin’ momma week.
On Monday, I went a “mom’s cafe” where I saw a lot of babies in slings, mom boobs, and exchange of homeopathic tips. I worried that I would be shunned for having a hospital birth or not breastfeeding for two years. But it wasn’t like that. So much talk about coconut oil, garlic, and Highland’s teething gel. It was really good, though, to go to this thing with lots of moms around my age with similar ideas. Everyone was really welcoming and friendly.
Today, I met up with my friend Becca and her six-month-old, Levi. We took the babes to this “baby gym” where they did pull-ups and jumped on trampolines. OK, so I helped Eliot out a little. It was great to catch up with Becca. And, hey, we aren’t the only ones who co-sleep! Levi doesn’t like the crib and sleeps in his parents’ bed too. I’m looking forward to more play time with those two!

And then on this coming Monday, I plan to go to a playgroup with the moms from the cafe. It’ll just be me and Eliot, and I worry about it being awkward and about Eliot crying the whole drive out (30 minutes!), but it’ll be good.
See how proactive I am being about getting baby friends for Eliot? I really am trying hard and I think I’m finally getting somewhere!
