NEW YEAR CHALLENGE
1. Five things you have accomplished in 2011
- I had a baby two weeks into the year.
- I had to quit my GSA job because I got a contract as an Assistant Professor—a welcomed change. I think I taught about 20 classes in 2011. That’s kind of a lot.
- I took my last two classes, passed my comprehensive exam, and am working on my dissertation. Next year at this time, it should be done!
- I became more of a healthy person.
- Hm. I can’t think of anything else. I breastfed for six and a half months. That is something seriously challenging.
2. Four things you regret about 2011
- I didn’t write enough.
- I didn’t read enough.
- I wasn’t proactive enough with my dissertation—always could have done more.
- I let myself get overwhelmed too easily.
3. Three people who you are glad to have met or become closer to in 2011
- Gee, I think it all remained about the same aside from meeting Eliot, so we’ll say Kevin Durant.
4. Two memorable moments from 2011
- Having Eliot, of course.
- Man, just about every day with Eliot. All of his smiles, laughs, and affection.
5. One wish for 2012 Happy New Year Everyone! Lets Hope it will be Better than the Last!
- I’m hoping to be more loving, giving, and accepting of help from others—that last one sounds selfish, but it something that I really need to work on.
